A Guide to Artist Residencies
Professional Development Workshop on Tuesday 4th December 6.30pm to 8pm
Artist Residencies are an extremely viable and practical approach for an artist at any level of their career, to challenge, sustain and develop a significant studio practice.
I will give an in depth professional development workshop on the topic of artist residencies; what facilities you use to find them, how to apply, the available funding and what documentation is required of you to display your work in the best possible light. I will demonstrate how to build an artist CV and the best way to write a clear and concise proposal.
A prologue to these demonstrations will be a brief presentation of my experiences while on residency in Iceland, Ireland, The Netherlands, China, Finland and in the U.S.A. Artist in Residency programs are a huge boon and have facilitated, fueled and pushed the boundaries of my professional practice over the past few years.
The talk will be followed by a Q & A session and tea.
